An exchange tracking a leak: an NCMI COVID origins paper from May 2020 had appeared online, and colleagues were working out how it surfaced, what version had leaked, and where it was circulating.
NCMI learned of the leak from OCC colleagues who had been notified by DARPA Legislative Affairs.
The document posted online was assessed as very similar to the internal V11, but crucially did not contain the recipient’s comments — noted with evident relief.
Two links are given for the resulting coverage: a TheBlaze piece about a leaked Pentagon paper said to indicate the government had doubted the natural-origins theory, and a Twitter account carrying screenshots, described as associated with drasticresearch.org, which the sender notes had been tied to other leaked information.
The final forward, from the National Counterproliferation and Biosecurity Center at ODNI, encloses the NCMI document as provided by OCC.
