WITCHCRAFT
Aradia, or the Gospel of the Witches
Charles Leland’s 1899 collection of Tuscan witch-lore — invocations to Diana, spells, and a myth of Aradia — which he said came to him from a hereditary witch. It is the single most influential text on modern Wicca, and how much of it is old is still argued over.
Aradia, or the Gospel of the Witches runs to 17 chapters, 291 passages. The whole of it is held here and free to read, searchable by reference or by the words in it.
The edition held here is Aradia, or the Gospel of the Witches (Leland, 1899) (1899), in English, in the public domain, from English Wikisource.
It sits on the estate's shelf of 106 sacred works, beside the complete Douay-Rheims Bible, an atlas of the places named in scripture, a timeline and a genealogy.
