CHRISTIANITY

The Epistle to Diognetus

An anonymous defence of Christianity addressed to an inquiring pagan — "they dwell in their own countries, but only as sojourners." Its single surviving manuscript burned in 1870.

The Epistle to Diognetus runs to 12 chapters, 13 passages. The whole of it is held here and free to read, searchable by reference or by the words in it.

The edition held here is Ante-Nicene Fathers, in English, in the public domain, from Wikisource (Ante-Nicene Fathers, Vol. I).

It sits on the estate's shelf of 106 sacred works, beside the complete Douay-Rheims Bible, an atlas of the places named in scripture, a timeline and a genealogy.
